By VitruvianOS Team April 1, 2026

As promised we are pleased to announce the release of Vitruvian OS 0.3.1.
We would like to thank everyone for the encouraging amount of support for the first public release of Vitruvian.
What you will find in the new ISO:
- Resolved most problems with icons.
- Lots of new apps and preferences
- Double buffering in app_server
- Fixed BIOS Machines Boot
- Improved general stability
- Tracker fixes
- Kernel fixes
What happened during development (that we still didn’t release):
- ARM port advancements.
- Filesystem improvements.
A few things to keep in mind:
- We don’t suggest to try it on real hw, while we are doing daily improvements unless you really want to do it, a VM is more than enough for trying it.
- It’s normal that apps can crash, the system can freeze, threads can spin etc. This is alpha software after all.
- Filesystem needs some love and will be the subject of the next release.
Finally thank you everyone for supporting us on DistroWatch, we are now in top10!
